Lisa’s certifications are in the content areas of Biology and General Science. She has designed curriculum and taught the following classes: Biology, Anatomy/Physiology, Chemistry, Environmental Ecology, Edible Science, the Chemistry of Ceramics, S.T.E.M./Experimental Design, and Reading Comprehension for Secondary Science Success. She aligns herclasses to exceed state and national standards for science education including a strong emphasis on problem solving skills.
She believes that true teaching provides students with tools to formulate questions and seek answers. She strives to empower her students by encouraging them to think about important issues, to develop their own ideas, to present information in defense of their own ideas, and to use their ideas to make positive changes in their communities and world around them.
